Enjoy one of the most impressive experiences of recent years: the day trip to Caminito del Rey from Seville, an essential trip for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts.

This incredible trail began as a walkway built by the Chorro Hydroelectric Company to facilitate access between the Gaitanejo Waterfall and the Chorro Waterfall. Today, completely renovated, it has become one of the most spectacular trails in Spain. Trekking along the Caminito del Rey is like travelling back in time as you walk along a 3 km route that skirts the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes gorge, with sections barely a metre wide and an average height of 100 metres above the Guadalhorce River.

The route begins in Ardales, passes through Antequera and ends in El Chorro, a unique natural setting in the province of Málaga. The original route was named in 1921, when King Alfonso XIII crossed it after inaugurating the Conde de Guadalhorce dam. Over the years, deterioration made it the most dangerous trail in Europe until its restoration in 2014. A year later, it reopened to the public with a completely safe 7-kilometre route.

The Caminito del Rey runs between the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba and El Chorro reservoirs, running parallel to the railway tracks and offering spectacular views of the Gaitanes and Gaitanejo gorges. At the end of the trail, transport will pick you up and take you to a nearby restaurant, where you can enjoy the typical cuisine of the Sierra de Málaga, or take advantage of your free time to eat at your leisure or enjoy a picnic.

The excursion may also include a visit to the elegant town of Osuna, declared a Historic-Artistic Site and renowned for its beauty and for having been the setting for numerous film productions. After strolling through its monumental streets, you will continue the adventure towards the Gaitanes Gorge.

When the day comes to an end and after enjoying the last views of the natural landscape, you will set off on your return journey to Seville. Arrival is scheduled between 19:00h and 21:00h, with unforgettable memories of an incredible day at Caminito del Rey.
